Hon'ble the Chief Justice and Judges have been pleased to approve, under Section 25 of the West Pakistan Civil Courts Ordinance, 1962, the following annual list of General Holidays to be observed by the Lahore High Court (Principal Seat), its Benches at Bahawalpur, Multan and Rawalpindi and Civil and Sessions Courts in the Province during the year,2008.

N.B:- 1. The holidays marked with an asterisk(*) are subject to appearance of the moon. In case the festival falls on a day other than that notified, specific instructions will be issued by the High Court, timely notice shall, where possible, be given to litigants in the event of the festival not falling on the day notified.
2. The Civil Courts (including Sessions Courts) subordinate to the Lahore High Court, shall observe Winter holidays from 25th December (Thursday), 2008 to 1st January (Thursday),2009.
3. The Lahore High Court shall observe Winter Holidays from 24th December (Wednesday), 2008 to 7th January (Wednesday), 2009 for Hon'ble Judges of Lahore High Court, and from 25th December, (Thursday) 2008 to 1st January, (Thursday) 2009 for staff of High Court.
4. Every Sunday in a week is holiday.
5. T he long vacations of the Lahore High Court shall be from 7th July (Monday), to 6th September (Saturday), 2008.
6. The Summer Vacations for Civil Courts subordinate to the Lahore High Court shall be from 1st August to 31st August, except at Murree.
7. Civil Courts at Murree shall remain closed for annual vacations in the month of January every year instead of August.
